I have a confession to make with my first, I didn’t do a great job of documenting baby’s first year. The first year after Luca was born, I didn’t print a single photo. If you can believe it, I completed my first 365 project during Luca’s first year and didn’t print a single photo. Early motherhood is exhausting, and busy. I had zero interest in activities like creating albums or scrapbooking.

These days, there are lots of hassle free options for creating photo albums directly from your smart phone. From high end to cheap and cheerful, I know there is a photo album service that’s perfect for your family! Here are 3 apps that make documenting baby’s first year super easy! Perfect for busy new moms who are short on time but still want to remember life at home with their sweet little baby.

High End: Volumes by Artifact Uprising

Artifact Uprising’s Volumes service is a great service for documenting baby’s first year. Artifact Uprising takes photos from your iPhone and automatically transforms them into a cohesive book series. Add 50 images to a designated folder on your smart phone, and Volumes creates a new photo album. All you have to do is approve the book design and it’s printed and shipped to your door.

I absolutely love the craftsmanship of these books. They are beautifully made with a linen covers, foil stamped letters and beautiful matte paper. The finishing on these books means they are priced at the high end of the spectrum. I personally think the quality is worth the splurge!

Mid Range: Chat Books

Chat Books is a hands off album design service that’s perfect for documenting baby’s first year. When you sign up for this service, chat Books takes your Instagram feed and automatically turns it into a stylish little album every time you post 50 images.

Chat books has lots of cute and colourful album cover options to suit all tastes and seasons. My favourite covers are designed designs by Rifle Paper Company and Kate Spade. Pricing wise, they are middle of the road and offer a good balance on price and quality.

Cheap and Cheerful: Groove Books

Groove Books is an app that helps you free your photos from your phone. Every month, Groove Books will send you a cute little 4×6 patterned book. Each book has between 40 and 100 of your photographs. The books look like cute little coupon books and give you the option to rip out specific pictures for display or gifts. At $2.99 (USD) a month, price wise, this subscription service cannot be beat!
